  • Mimetus aurioculatus Hickman, V.V. 1929. Studies in Tasmanian Spiders. Pt III. Papers and Proceedings of the Royal Society of Tasmania 1928: 96-118 [110-114 figs 6A-C, 7A-C] [emendations aureoculatus by Bonnet and auriculatus by Roewer are considered invalid under Art. 32(ii) of ICZN].

     Syntype(s) QVM 13:7337 2 adult (old type no. 35), Punch Bowl, Launceston, TAS
    Comment: Harms & Harvey (2009, redescription) list the male as holotype and list a single female paratype. Hickman did not specify a holotype and the specimens share a single registration number.
