Diagnosis
Aurelia with 16 small ocular and 16 velar flaps, divided from the former by deep incisions, but from each other only by a shallow groove. The mouth arms are broad, straight, and a little longer than the margin of the umbrella; rounded at the end. The centrifugal branches of the canal system divide at larger angles than in other species, so that the ramification has by no means a slender appearance; there are very few anastomoses only.
