Szüts, T. 2000. An afrotropical species, Asemona stella, (Araneae: Salticidae), found in Australia. Folia Entomologica Hungarica 61: 61-63 (reports the presence of two females of this species in material collected in the Mackay-Bowen area by the Hungarian Soil Expedition in 1965. As the group had been working in Africa prior to coming to Australia, this observation needs to be confirmed from further material before the species is included in the Australian fauna)
