Introduction
The description of A. medusa was the first record of polypharyngy in a turbellarian outside of the triclads (Curini-Galletti & Cannon, 1997). Although the title of the paper in which this species is described includes it within the Archimonocelididae Meixner, 1938, the authors have presented the species description (p. 487) under the family group name "Archimonocelidae Meixner, 1938" - it is presumed this a typographical error.
