Species Archaeopodella scopulifera Athias-Henriot, 1977
- Archaeopodella scopulifera Athias-Henriot, C. 1977. A new Australian mite, Archaeopodella scopulifera gen. et sp. n. (Gamasida : Liroaspidae). Journal of the Australian Entomological Society 16: 225-235.
Introduction
The genus Archaeopodella is known from one species, whose adults have not been described. For that reason its taxonomic placement in the family Ichthyostomatogasteridae must be considered as provisional. Athias-Henriot (1977) described A. scopulifera on the basis of the deutonymph and protonymph, collected on the native rodent Rattus fuscipes at two sites in Victoria and New South Wales.
