Introduction

This little pale species has been collected from plants of the family Fabaceae. Its distribution is mainly temperate coastal areas of Queensland and New South Wales.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: parenchyma feeder (associated flora: Acacia falcata Willd. [FABACEAE] Sickle-shaped Acacia; Medicago sativa Linnaeus [FABACEAE]).

 

Diagnosis

General coloration yellow, eyes black. Head with the crown produced medially; ocelli obsolete. Length 2 mm (Evans 1940).

Pale cream with suffusion of pale orange on posterior half of pronotum and basal third to two-thirds of pronotum. Occasionally, pale lemon yellow or whitish. Male genitalia. Aedeagus single, straight shaft directed dorsally, tapering from base to apex in both lateral and posterior views. A pair of long, divergent processes apically, extending almost to base of shaft and widening from base to near apex, then narrowed to acute apex. Gonopore preapical. (Fletcher & Larivière 2009).
