Ecological Descriptors

All stages: xylem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Length, male 5.2 mm, female 6.8 mm. General coloration pale yellowish, or greyish brown. Crown, pronotum and scutellum pale brown, muscle impressions on the anterior half of the pronotum prominent in the female. Tegmen brown, pale brown and white; an anterior, whitish, irregular, transverse fascia, margined posteriorly with an irregular brown area, shading to white, followed by another brown area. Between this and the apex of the tegmen, which is brown, a hyaline area; veins brown. (Evans 1966, as Neoaphrophora tiegsi)
