Ecological Descriptors

Larva: parasitic.

 

Diagnosis

Antennal flagellum with large rounded base about 1.53 diameter of scape (Figs 83, 84). Short spur-vein at base of R2+3, CuA2 and A1 separate. Wing pattern similar to A. incomptus Walker except hyaline regions of wing of A. incomptus are replaced by smoky grey infuscation (Fig. 8). Black infuscation present along anterobasal half of wing from apical third of anal cell to apex of vein Sc; black infuscated spots over base of R4, r-m, m-m and dm-cu; remainder of wing with grey infuscation. Abdominal tergite 1 with black hairs and scales except anterobasal corners with erect white hairs. Tergites 2–7 with black hairs. Male genitalia similar to A. argentia, swollen basiphallus and epiphallus with long, sharp, recurved dorsal apical hook. Spermatheca of female genitalia with bulb elongate oval, neck of spermatheca turning through 180° from bulb to sperm pump.
