Ecological Descriptors

Larva: parasitic.

 

Diagnosis

Flagellum with swollen base about size of pedicel, gradually tapering toward apex. Haltere knob with basal third dark brown, apex cream. Wing venation simple; lacking i-r crossvein and spur-veins. Wing pattern similar to A. proconcisus; wing membrane divided distinctly into anterobasal half with dark brown-black infuscation; posterior and apical regions of membrane hyaline (Fig. 12). Division between regions running from apical fifth of cell a1 to apex of Sc with small, rounded extension into cell r5 between r-m and apex of cell dm-cu, reaching posterior margin of cell. Tergites 2–5 with black hairs and tomentum with some light brown scales along posterior margin of tergites. Tergites 6 and 7 with light brown scales. Male genitalia (Figs 123, 124) with basiphallus of normal proportions and epiphallus with blunt, recurved, sclerotised dorsal apical hook, ventral apical flange sharp in lateral view forming sharp, long apical projections extending beyond apex of phallus in dorsal view. Female genitalia with spermathecal bulb round, attached to pump by long, arrow neck.
