Larva: parasitic.
Diagnosis
Base of antennal flagellum broad with ventral flange extending around pedicel (Figs 79, 80). Haltere knob dark brown. Wing pattern similar to A. incomptus Walker except dark brown basal markings gradually fade into smoky grey apical portion. Dark brown infuscation along anterobasal half of wing from apical third of anal cell to apex of vein Sc; darker brown infuscated spots lie over base of R4 and apex of discal medial cell (Fig. 5). No white scales present on tergites 1–4; dense, shining silver scales on tergites 5–7 broadly interrupted medially. Male genitalia with swollen basiphallus; epiphallus with sclerotised, well-developed dorsal apical hook.
