Introduction

Annabellia assimilans is a small compact species characterised by the combination of coarse radial ribs and weak spiral striae on the teleoconch and in having a domed spire. It is distinguished from Terrycarlessia bullacea by having a smaller, less globose and darker coloured shell with very much weaker spiral sculpture.

Diagnosis

Shell relatively small to medium-sized, brownish-yellow with darker radial streaks, subglobose with a low-domed spire; protoconch smooth, teleoconch sculpture of prominent radial ribs and weak spiral striae above; umbilicus narrow, V-shaped; diameter 17mm.
