Diagnosis
Chelifores with no rudiment of chelae (diagnosis of subgenus); palp distal segmentes serrate, or with ventral expansions; distorted ovigers, elongated oval shape of proboscis (also in hilgendorfi) lateral processes with one or two distal spines
Taxonomic Notes
Stock (1973A) placed Ammothea ovatoides into a new subgenus Lecythorhynchus and placed Ammothea australiensis into another new subgenus Ammothea.
