Comment: Described from 2 males, not from a 'specim. unique' (Viette 1950), thus lectotype designated by McQuillan (1996). Meyrick (1892) incorrectly redescribed the species based on specimens that are not sparsularia (McQuillan 1996).Subsequent designation references:

Tasmania, Victoria
Extra Distribution Information
Widely distributed in Tasmania especially at high altitudes. Recorded in Victoria, Mt Buffalo (1200 m) by Turner (1939). Open woodland from sea level to 1000 m. Alpine heathland above 800 m. Mixed heathland-buttongrass moorland.
Australian Endemic.
