Species Amblyseius phillipsi McMurtry & Schicha, 1984

Introduction

Schicha (1987) and other publications gives the authorship of this name as McMurtry & Schicha, 1987. However, the name Amblyseius phillipsi was made available by its publication in McMurtry & de Moraes (1984). Table 1 of the latter publication is clearly intended to distinguish A. phillipsi from related species and therefore makes the name available. The authorship of the name is given in that paper as McMurtry & Schicha, 1984. McMurtry & Schicha's paper was not published until 1987. The authorship of this name is therefore McMurtry & Schicha in McMurtry & de Moraes 1984.
