• Typhlodromus caudiglans Schuster, R.O. 1959. A new species of Typhlodromus near T. bakeri (Garman) and a consideration of the occurrence of T. rhenanus (Oud.) in California (Acarina, Phytoseiidae). Proceedings of the Entomological Society of Washington 61: 88–90.

Introduction

There is some doubt about whether this species occurs in Australia. Schicha (1979) reported that specimens from Tasmania previously identified as T. caudiglans by Collyer were actually T. dossei. Collyer (1982) then reported T. caudiglans from Melbourne, but Schicha (1987) did not record T. caudiglans as present in Australia. Chant et al. (1978) and Denmark & Evans (2011, 2019) reported it from Australia without further comment. The catalogues of de Moraes et al. (2004) and Demite et al. (2016) record T. caudiglans as present in Australia only on the basis of the unconfirmed information from Chant et al. (1978) and Collyer (1982). This question must be considered as unresolved.
