Diagnosis
Body. Lateral margin of cephalothorax turned in ventrally, skeletal strut pattern weak, only developed at ventro-lateral margins of cephalothorax. Rostrum usually large and broad. Epimeral plates of free prosomties well developed; those of first urosomite smaller and more rounded. Caudal rami short and braod, lamellar; with setae IV and V distinct.
Antennule. 7- to 9-segmented in female.
Antenna. Exopod 2- (or 3-?) segmented.
Mandible. Exopod present.
Maxilliped. Basis inflated or elongate with convex palmar margin; endopodal claw elongate.
P1. Exopod-3 with 4 claw setae and usually 1 geniculate seta. Endopod 3-segmented.
P5. Baseoendopod and exopod separate in both sexes.
