Species Alseis hackeri Stevens, 1991

Compiler and date details

2 February 2012 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This species was based on a single male specimen from Tooloom in the far NE corner of New South Wales but a second specimen, which matches the male genitalia of the holotype, is known from near Adelaide, South Australia. This indicates that the species of Alseis may be quite widespread but they are clearly not very common. The species was named "in honour of the late Henry Hacker in recognition of his contribution to Australian entomology."
