Introduction
Specimens collected by Thomson & Mackinnon from NSW appear to represent a clavulariid species of unknown identity. From their published description (see Thomson & Mackinnon 1911: 665) of the material it is not possible to tell if their samples are the same species as the original South African specimens named Alcyonium membranaceum, which also seems to represent a species of Clavularidae.
