- Aedoea Turner, A.J. 1899. Notes of Australian Lepidoptera. Transactions of the Royal Society of South Australia 23: 9-21 [10].
Type species:
Aedoea monochroa Turner, 1899 by monotypy.
Introduction
Holloway (2001) treats Aedoea Turner, 1899 as a synonym of Eilema Hübner, [1819] in his diagnosis of the genus. In the same publication under the treatment of "Eilema" monochroa (Turner, 1899) he comments that based on genitalic characters, monochroa Turner, 1899 and decreta Butler, 1877 are congeneric, and could be retained in Aedoea Turner, 1899. On this basis Aedoea Turner, 1899 has been retained as a genus, with a single Australian species monochroa Turner, 1899 which also occurs in Borneo.
