Mound et al. (2022) gave a revised description, discussed variability and noted the wide distribution of this species.

On several Casuarina species [Casuarinaceae]: C. cunninghamiana, C. glauca, C. cristata, C. obesa,C.equisetifolia and Allocasuarina luehmanni.
