Diagnosis
Pedal disc wide, approximately same size as column height. Column thick and smooth. Sphincter strong, occupies about half the thickness of mesogloea, reticulo-alveolar, tending to stratified. Tentacles very numerous, up to more than 300, hexamerously arranged in 6-7 cycles, small, longitudinally sulcated. Mesenteries more numerous at base. 6-7 orders of mesenteries, at least 3 orders perfect, and first 2-3 orders sterile. Embryos developing in coelenteron. Separate sexes.
