Diagnosis

Pedal disc flat or cup-like enclosing mud or stone. Thick column wall, scapus with numerous tubercles arranged in longitudinal rows. Coronal tubercles merging into 12 well marked broad longitidual ridges of the scapulus. Each ridge with several distal tubercles. Marginal sphincter alveolar, strong, tending to be transversely stratified in its middle part, closer to ectoderm rather than endoderm. Tentacles, 96 in number, with mesogleoal thickenings on aboral side at base. 48 pairs of mesenteries. Retractor muscles concentrated in middle of mesentery, forming close, branched folds. Numerous acontia.
