Family ANOSTOSTOMATIDAE De Saussure, 1859
Compiler and date details
January 2006
Introduction
The Anostostomatidae includes a large number of genera formerly included in the Stenopelmatidae. Included here are the King Crickets of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The Australann endemic, Cooloola Rentz, was placed here but is thought to be misplaced and representative of a distinct family as originally proposed. Several recently described genera probably belong here but their relationships have not been studied.
