Introduction

This pantropical group holds 31 genera. Only Sunorfa is known from Australia (Chandler 2001: 377).

 

Diagnosis

Maxillary palpi with base of fourth segments acutely angulate, lateral margins gently curved, mesal margins broadly angulate at about basal third of length; antennal clubs formed by apical three antennomeres, antennomeres IX clearly forming part of clubs; head often with deep setose postantennal incisions, or with clearly marked postantennal sulci or carinae (as do many Proterini); body usually depressed.
