Subtribe Brachyglutina Raffray, 1904

Taxonomic Decision for Synonymy

 

Introduction

There are 4 subtribes of Brachglutini. Three are restricted to the New World, with only the Brachyglutina found in Australia. There are 104 genera of Brachyglutina, and the group is found world-wide Chandler 2001: 292).

 

Diagnosis

Head with median gular carina distinct to lacking, lacking a deep gular fovea near mouthparts. Metasternal coxae widely separated. Abdomen with first four visible tergites (IV-VII) margined, with at least single lateral suture indicating lateral margin of paratergites.
