Introduction

This species is known from several localities in Queensland, mostly in the tropical north but also from Stanthorpe in SE Queensland.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder (associated flora: Banksia sp. [PROTEACEAE]; Grevillea sp. [PROTEACEAE]).

 

Diagnosis

Pronotum brownish ochraceous, the anterior pronotal lateral processes black or nearly black, and the area between them darker castaneous, posterior process (excluding base) black; face pale castaneous; femora pale castaneous, their
apices and the tibiae and tarsi stramineous, tarsal claws black; tegmina dull stramineous, base, costal and subcostal areas, and the apical margin black; pronotum punctate, the lateral processes long, subacute, directed outwardly and a little upwardly, centrally carinate, the posterior process tricarinate, touching the scutellum and then moderately convexly elevated, its apical half roundly deflected, its apex slender, subacute, and almost reaching the tegminal apex; the dark areas of the tegmina more or less distinctly punctate. Long., incl. tegm., 5 mm.; exp. lat, pronot. process 3½ mm (Distant 1916).
