Introduction
Spiders in the genus Corasoides build a suspended sheet with a knock-down tangle above; a retreat in a burrow leads off from the sheet. Unlike other web building stiphidiids, Corasoides spiders run on the upper surface of the web. Information on general biology is given by Butler (1939) and Main (1976). Corasoides was originally placed in the family Agelenidae by Butler (1929), was listed as Amaurobiidae (Desinae) by Lehtinen (1967) and later considered to belong in Stiphidiidae by Forster and Wilton (1973). It was later moved to Desidae (Wheeler et al. 2016).
