Introduction

Berlese (1910) described Ameroseius crassipes from Australia. Later Berlese (1916) transferred this species to Lasioseius (Leioseius). Westerboer & Bernhard (1963) pointed out that this species does not belong in Leioseius. Halliday et al. (1998) showed that this species belongs to the Ologamasidae, but its generic placement can not be determined until the type specimen is re-examined.
