Introduction

This species is known from four male and 1 female specimens from the wet tropics of North Queensland. The species name is derived from an Aboriginal word for "true".

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

Extra Ecological Information

Known host: Curtain Fig (Moraceae).

 

Diagnosis

Large, robust, dark, markedly setose membracid with broad lateral pronotal processes, angular at apex; clypeal lobes well developed; gena evenly rounded; tegmen hyaline, dark brown at apex, apically acute, veins concolorous and conspicuous; hind tibia slender. Length (holotype ♀) 8.7 mm (Day 1999).
