Incertae Sedis
- Aphalara tecta Maskell, W.M. 1898. On some Australian insects of the family Psyllidae. Transactions of the Royal Society of South Australia 22: 4-11 [6] [nomen dubium; May represent a species of Glycaspsis].
Introduction
Endemic, VIC; associated flora: Eucalyptus ovata Labill. [MYRTACEAE] Swamp Gum (Maskell 1898), Eucalyptus bridgesiana F.Muell. ex R.T.Baker 1898 (as E. stuartiana F.Muell. ex Miq.) [MYRTACEAE] Apple Box (Froggatt 1900).
Only Australian representative of Aphalarinae. Description may be based on adult and lerp of different species. Maskell's figures of the adult suggest this species belongs in Glycaspis but the lerps figured more closely resemble those of Creiis or Spondyliaspis. It is possible that the lerps figured were not made by the larvae of the adult figured. See Hollis (2004) and Martoni et al. (2024)
