Introduction

Dremuela differs from all other Eurymelini by the presence of dorsal accessory processes on the male subgenital plates rather than ventral processes. These processes are derived from the infolded dorsal margin. The only known species is not common in collections and is distributed around the SE corner of mainland Australia from Mittagong in the Sydney basin of New South Wales to southern Victoria.

Diagnosis

The face of the head is wider than long and anteriorly recurved. The antennal ledges, which are short, are well defined and there is a deep depression below the antennae. The labium terminates between the middle coxae. The frontoclypeus is medially flat and laterally depressed. The crown is narrow and wider against the eyes than in the centre. The venation of the tegmen is not reticulate. The fore and middle femora have short and slender spines on their ventral margins and the hind tibiae have 1 spur and several additional spines. The subgenitali plates lack ventral styles but have triangular processes developed from the infolding of their dorsal margins (Evans 1966).
