   Syntype(s) AM K209300 ♂ (xi.1926, as Elston failed to fix a type, Opitz' [2015: 262] reference to this specimen as the holotype is incorrect), Gypsum, VIC [35° 16' 22" S 142° 23' 51" E].

Generic Combinations

• Apopylus okei (Elston, 1929) [transferred to Apopylus from Pseudopylus by Opitz (2015) though without indication that the resulting combination was new].
• Pseudopylus okei (Elston, 1929) [transferred from Pylus to Pseudopylus by Opitz (2012); this combination was a result of a misidentification by Kolibac (2003) and Opitz (2012) (see Bartlett 2013) of specimens later described as Pseudopylus apterus by Opitz (2015)].
