Introduction

This species was described from SW Queensland and this was the distribution given by Stevens (1994) but there are a number of specimens from the north coast of New South Wales that are in the J.W. Evans collection as P. minima.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Face of head, other than the frontoclypeus, pale yellowish brown mottled with brown; frontoclypeus brown, sparsely mottled with brown. Crown of head, thorax and tegmen, greyish with irregular longitudinal coffee brown markings. Length ♂ 6.8 mm (Evans 1966).

Small pale species lacking a distinct transcephalic stripe. Aedeagus with a single, slender, apical arm bearing three small preapical spines, accessory apodeme absent. Pygophore process hooked, apex acute (Stevens 1994).
