Introduction

Griffithsina subglobosa is a smaller and more compact species than G. connorsiana. It is distinguished from Scagacola degenerata by having more prominent radial sculpture on the teleoconch.

Ecological Descriptors

Under logs, under rocks, vine thicket, woodland.

 

Diagnosis

Shell medium-sized, glossy yellow with darker radial streaks, subglobose; protoconch smooth with weak radial ridges, strongly curved at the protoconch/teleoconch boundary, teleoconch sculpture of strong radial ribs on the upper whorl surface that become obsolete on the last part of the body whorl, and weak spiral striae; umbilicus narrow, V-shaped; diameter 16.5mm.
