Zosterops citrinella Bonaparte, C.L. (1850). Conspectus Generum Avium. Tom. I. Lugduni, Batavorum : E.J. Brill 543 pp. [398] [published June; because Bonaparte treated Zosterops as feminine, citrinella is interpreted as an adjective, meaning 'a little green', and not as a noun in apposition].
Type data: syntypes RMNH 1 unsexed*, RMNH 2 unsexed*.
Type locality: Timor.
