[194], cited Zelanophilus Chamberlin, 1920 as a junior synonym of Mesogeophilus Verhoeff, 1901. Archey, G. 1936. Revision of the Chilopoda of New Zealand. Part 1. Records of the Auckland Institute and Museum 2(1): 43–70 [51] and Crabill, R.E. 1963. A preliminary review of Zelanophilus with description of a new Australian species (Chilopoda: Geophilomorpha: Geophilidae). Psyche (Cambridge) 70: 164–169, clearly regarded Zelanophilus as a valid genus and their opinions are followed here.
