Family ZOROTYPIDAE
Compiler and date details

Introduction
All members of the Zoraptera are included in the family Zorotypidae, which therefore has the same diagnostic characteristics and distribution as the order. The family was based, by Silvestri (1913), on the West African species Zorotypus guineensis Silvestri, the type species of the genus.
Although Kukalová-Peck & Peck (1993) discussed the possibility of two families in the Zoraptera, based on their erection of new genera, they believed that this is at present impossible to decide. Zorotypus ceylonicus Silvestri and Zorotypus javanicus Silvestri were both described in the paper diagnosing the family and are thereby part of the formal basis for the taxon.
