Ectoparasitic (host(s): Rattus rattus (Linnaeus, 1758) [MURIDAE] Black Rat; Rattus norvegicus (Berkenhout, 1769) [MURIDAE] Brown Rat), sanguinivore.

Extra Ecological Information

Principal hosts are introduced rodents, it is considered the most important vector species for Yersinia pestis, the causative agent of plague.
