Genus Volvarina Hinds, 1844
- Volvarina Hinds, R.B. 1844. Descriptions of Marginellae collected during the voyage of H.M.S. Sulphur, and from the collection of Mr. Cuming. Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London 12 14: 72-77 [figs 38,64] [Marginella avena Valenciennes in Kiener, an originally included species stated by Hinds to be a "typical species" [Volvarina], was cited as the type species of Volvarina by Cossmann (1899: 92), however, this does not qualify as an original fixation of the type species].
