Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult feeds on amphibians, frogs, marsupials, humans, horses, cattle and fowl; adults taken in window, light and animal-baited traps; isolation of Ephemeral fever virus from specimens collected at Rockhampton, QLD; larva found in ground pools usually with emergent vegetation and amongst grass or algae in transient pools, drains and effluent; immature stages found in pools at edges of swamps, creeks, borrow pits and sewage lagoons with grass, reeds, lilies, trees or other emergent vegetation.
