Ecological Descriptors

Adult: predator, terrestrial.

 

Diagnosis

Length 2.1-2.2 mm. Body with most setae short and decumbent, body shining, appearing sparsely setose; scattered longer setae typically strongly curved. Head with antennae similar in both sexes, clubs formed by apical 3 antennomeres; antennomeres VIII two-thirds width of IX; antennomeres IX transverse, about three-fourths width of X; antennomeres X twice as wide as long. Pronotum sparsely and distinctly punctate; lateral margins angulate just anterior and posterior to lateral antebasal foveae, margins carinate for short distance anterior to lateral antebasal foveae; paranotal carinae indistinct. Elytra with 4 basal foveae. Visible tergites 1-2 (IV-V) with setose impressions between discal carinae, 1-3 (IV-VI) with mediobasal foveae.
Male eyes with about 45 facets; with small preapical spines on mesal margins of protibiae and mesotibiae; metatrochanters with acute ventral angulation on mesal margins.
Female eyes with about 40 facets.
