Species Phrikoceros nocturnus (Newman & Cannon, 1996)

Miscellaneous Literature Names

Introduction

Despite the name of this species, specimens of P. nocturnus are not necessarily nocturnal in habit, although they may be collected at night; rather, this species was named for the intense black colouration of specimens. Members of this species were collected freely swimming in inshore reef waters at Heron Island.
