Subtribe Trogastrina Jeannel, 1949

Introduction

The Trogastrina contains twenty-three genera, and is most diverse in the New World. Only two genera are known from the southwestern Palaearctic Region, two odd genera are present in New Zealand, and three genera are here recorded from Australia. Mesoplatus Raffray is known from eastern Australia and New Guinea, while the remaining two genera are known from northeastern Australia (Chandler 2001: 85).

 

Diagnosis

Head with antennal insertions widely separated, lacking prominent frontal rostrum; eyes visible in dorsal view; vertexal foveae usually distinct. Pronotum with apex broadly rounded.
