Extra Distribution Information

Distributed in areas with an average annual rainfall higher than 75 cm and is common in Victoria in elevated woodland, reaches its northern limit in the MacPherson-Macleay Overlap of eastern Australia.

Australian Endemic.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult female autogenous, day-biting and attacks humans; larva found in tree holes, rock pools and artificial containers such as tyres, tins and water tanks.
