- Misidentifications
Triplectides cephalotes (Walker, 1852) [Australian mainland references prior to 1982, from Western Australia, are referable to Triplectides australis Navás. Smithers (1998) listed T. australis from Norfolk Island, but this was determined earlier as T. cephalotes (by Neboiss 1986); apparently the record dates from 1943, but no specimens from Norfolk Island are known to be in any collections and none has been collected by light-trapping in 2012, 2013 (Wells personal observations). T. cephalotes is a New Zealand species] — Morse, J.C. & Neboiss, A. 1982. Triplectides of Australia (Insecta: Trichoptera: Leptoceridae).
