Introduction
Two subfamilies are recognised in Australia for this small group. Formerly classified in the Grylloidea, hence the common nname Pygmy Mole Crickets. However, the true relationships have been shown to lie with the Tetrigoidea. Günther (1978) provides the most comprehensive review of the group for Australia.
