Introduction

Torresiropa is characterised by the extremely wide, U-shaped umbilicus and strong radial sculpture on the teleoconch. The genus was originally assigned to the Charopidae.

Diagnosis

Shell small, trochoidal, body whorl strongly angular with ridge or keel; spire domed; protoconch with curved radial ridges, teleoconch sculpture of strong radial ribs without prominent spiral striae above, spiral striae often present on underside of whorls; umbilicus extremely wide, U-shaped. Colour creamy-yellow.
