Species Titanolichus chiragricus (Mégnin & Trouessart, 1884)
Introduction
Pterolichus affinis was described by Mégnin & Trouessart (1884), who included a comment that this species could be a variety of P. chiragricus Mégnin & Trouessart, 1884. Canestrini & Kramer (1999) show P. affinis to be partly a synonym of P. chiragricus and partly a synonym of P. velifer Mégnin & Trouessart, 1884. It is not clear how the syntypes of P. affinis should be distributed between the latter two species, so the question of synonymy of these three names cannot be fully resolved at the moment.
