Genus Thelohania Henneguy & Thélohan, 1892
- Thelohania Henneguy, F. & Thélohan, P. 1892. Myxosporidies parasites des muscles chez quelques crustacés décapodes. Annales de Micrographie 4: 617–641.
Type species:
Thelohania giardi Henneguy & Thélohan, 1892 by original designation.
Introduction
Based on ribosomal DNA sequence data, the Microsporidia are recognised as Fungi and not Protists. At present Australian Biological Resource Study has retained the Microsporidia as a phylum in the Protists for historical comparative purposes.
Distribution
IBRA
Brigalow Belt North (BBN), Brigalow Belt South (BBS), Central Mackay Coast (CMC), Cape York Peninsula (CYP), Desert Uplands (DEU), Einasleigh Uplands (EIU), South Eastern Queensland (SEQ), Wet Tropics (WT)
IMCRA
Central Eastern Shelf Transition (39), Northeast Shelf Province (40), Northeast Shelf Transition (41)
