Introduction
The basis of this species were specimens previously accepted as Thaumatocotyle pseudodasybatis Hargis 1955. Following convoluted taxonomic history, in 2021 Kritsky & Bullard restricted T. pseudodasybatis to Atlantic Ocean characteristics and differentiated it from Pacific Ocean T. adelpha.
